About The Position

The VNA & Hospice of the Southwest Region is looking for a full time Clinical Field Specialist for Rutland and Bennington County. This position is responsible for providing clinical expertise, training, and support to home healthcare professionals, including nurses and caregivers, to ensure the safe and effective delivery of healthcare services in patients' homes. This position plays a crucial role in promoting best practices, optimizing patient outcomes, and enhancing the quality of care provided in the home setting. Requirements

  • Registered nurse with a minimum of a Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum of two years clinical acute care nursing experience preferred with home care experience and/or previous case management experience in a home care setting required.
  • Valid Vermont State Nursing license required.
  • Valid state driver's license required.
  • Ability to successfully pass pre-employment driver record, criminal, adult and child abuse background check/review required.
  • Must show proof of auto insurance at time of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's preferred.
  • Experience teaching adults in a clinical setting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as the primary preceptor for new Homecare RNs in the Rutland & Bennington County service areas
  • Takes action to ensure technical competency of clinical staff by assessing individual learning
  • Leads/coordinates and/or serves as an in-house educational consultant to assist clinical teams
  • Assists with clinical staff training courses
  • Proactively collaborates with the Clinical Educator and Clinical Management team to plan, coordinate and evaluate activities/programs/projects
  • Provides educational support and/or structure for new employees
  • Ensures clinical staff are practicing within the policies and procedures of VNAHSR
  • Serves as homecare and/or hospice field RN as directed
  • Performs competency assessments for aides and clinical staff
  • Evaluates educational curriculum and collaborates with Clinical Educator to adjust and update as necessary
