About The Position

The Clinical Fellow experience will include regular observations, direct mentorship and supervision, and frequent opportunities to collaborate with the clinical supervisor.

Requirements

Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology
Completion of all graduate internships and clinical hours
New York State Driver’s License
Must work at least 36 weeks and 1,260 hours to meet the ASHA CF experience requirement.
Must meet with your clinical supervisor weekly.
Must maintain and update professional knowledge, skills, and abilities through appropriate continuing education, in-service training or higher education.

Nice To Haves

Experience working with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities preferred.
Experience with AAC preferred.
Flexibility, as well as excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills

Responsibilities

Under the supervision of a state licensed & ASHA certified SLP Provide communication and feeding assessments, screenings, interventions, and services to individuals over the age of 21 in both day program and residential settings according to OPWDD guidelines and ASHA standards.
Train day program and residential staff on communication programs and safe feeding protocols
Provide required documentation for assessments and services.
Attend pertinent meetings as scheduled.
Collaborate and maintain open communication with other professionals, staff, and families.
