Quinnipiac University's School of Nursing is seeking a dynamic psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP) clinician and educator for a full-time, 12-month clinical track faculty position. This role serves as the Program Director for the PMHNP program, with a preference for doctorally-prepared candidates experienced in practice, teaching, and leadership within a PMHNP graduate program. The position aligns with the School’s competency-based curriculum, emphasizing learner-centered approaches, clinical judgment, and evidence-based practice, in accordance with the AACN 2021 Essentials. Faculty members are expected to contribute to developing practice-ready nurses and advanced practice nurses through innovative teaching and mentoring. As Program Director, the successful candidate will support the university’s strategic initiatives, including academic success, community building, innovation, distinctive experiences, redefining health, and extending partnerships. The Quinnipiac University School of Nursing, with over 50 years of experience, aims to develop exceptional, practice-ready nurses as leaders in science-based, holistic care through innovative and inclusive education. The School serves approximately 1100 graduate and undergraduate students across CCNE-accredited BSN, MSN, and DNP programs. Located at the North Haven, CT campus within the Center for Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences, the School utilizes state-of-the-art facilities for collaborative learning, including simulation rooms and skills labs. The curriculum emphasizes the social, emotional, spiritual, and psychological aspects of care alongside physical care. The School fosters a collaborative, supportive, and diverse community committed to high-quality education and values of belonging, compassion, collaboration, curiosity, and integrity. Faculty support includes structured orientation, mentoring, workshops, opportunities to work with recognized faculty, professional development support, grant application assistance, and a culture of community and professionalism. The Program Director is allocated one practice day per week. While the program is online with in-person immersions, regular campus presence in North Haven is expected.
