About The Position

Sentara Therapy Center BelleHarbour, located in Suffolk, VA is hiring a Clinical Exercise Specialist. This role administers therapy treatments under the direct supervision of a licensed leader, providing quality exercise and health education for patients while ensuring a safe, pleasant, and professional atmosphere. The specialist will be productive and efficient in daily operations, establishing and updating exercise programs to meet client/participant needs. They will supervise and assist clients/participants with daily exercise sessions, ensuring safety, and provide effective instruction to clients/participants and their families through standardized educational programs and/or individualized training. The role also supports the health education needs of the center, assists therapists/providers in delivering effective treatment plans, and documents patient response to treatment. Other clinical duties as assigned and demonstrating the ability to offer support and potential enhancements of services are also part of this role.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Health Science, Kinesiology, Athletic Training, Recreational Therapy, Physical Education, or Clinical Exercise Physiology.
• 1 year of clinical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administers therapy treatments under the direct supervision of licensed leader.
• Provides quality exercise and health education for patients, assuring a safe, pleasant, and professional atmosphere.
• Establishes and updates the exercise program to address the Client/participant's needs.
• Supervises and assists clients/participants with their daily exercise sessions, ensuring client/participant safety.
• Provides effective instruction to Clients/participants and their families through standardized educational programs and/or individualized training.
• Supports the health education needs of the center.
• Supports Therapist(s)/Providers in providing effective treatment plans.
• Documents patient response to treatment.
• Completes other clinical duties as assigned.
• Demonstrates ability to offer support and potential enhancements of services.
