Clinical Exercise Specialist
About The Position
Sentara Therapy Center Marina Shores is hiring a Clinical Exercise Specialist for Outpatient Rehab Therapy. This role administers therapy treatments under the direct supervision of a licensed leader, providing quality exercise and health education for patients while ensuring a safe, pleasant, and professional atmosphere. The specialist will be productive and efficient in daily operations, establishing and updating exercise programs to meet client/participant needs. They will supervise and assist clients/participants with daily exercise sessions, ensuring safety, and provide effective instruction to clients/participants and their families through standardized educational programs and/or individualized training. This role supports the health education needs of the center and assists Therapists/Providers in delivering effective treatment plans, documenting patient response to treatment, and completing other clinical duties as assigned. The specialist should demonstrate the ability to offer support and potential enhancements of services.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Health Science, Kinesiology, Athletic Training, Recreational Therapy, Physical Education, or Clinical Exercise Physiology.
- 1 year of clinical experience preferred.
Responsibilities

- Establishes and updates the exercise program to address the Client/participant's needs.
- Supervises and assists clients/participants with their daily exercise sessions, ensuring client/participant safety.
- Provides effective instruction to Clients/participants and their families through standardized educational programs and/or individualized training.
- Supports the health education needs of the center.
- Supports Therapist(s)/Providers in providing effective treatment plans.
- Documents patient response to treatment.
- Completes other clinical duties as assigned.
- Demonstrates ability to offer support and potential enhancements of services.
