Clinical Equipment Technician
About The Position
The Clinical Equipment Technician performs maintenance, service, and repairs on patient medical equipment at a specific Sanford Health location. The equipment may be used by, purchased by, or rented to patients. The technician works with both mechanical and electrical equipment, completes routine preventive maintenance and minor repairs according to manufacturer requirements and company policy, and documents repair actions in computer systems. The role requires proper care and calibration of spare parts, tools, and test equipment, and may include other assigned duties. This is a full-time position scheduled for 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. It includes rotating on-call duty, which may occasionally fall on a holiday; there are otherwise no regularly scheduled weekends or holidays. The position is based at a specific Sanford Health location.
Requirements
- Ability to work on mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Valid driver's license.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Experience in the proper use of tools and diagnostic equipment; on-the-job training will be provided.
- Working knowledge of computers and vendor software, with willingness to learn.
- Trustworthiness and a safety-minded approach.

Responsibilities
- Maintain, service, and repair patient medical equipment, including mechanical and electrical equipment.

- Document repair actions and submit reports or summaries using computer systems.
- Complete assigned tasks without close supervision while following safety practices.
