A Clinical Engineering (CE) Technician maintains, services, and repairs medical equipment. This could take the form of preventative measures, cleaning, or adjusting pieces of equipment. CE Technicians are also familiar enough with hospital machinery to disassemble, repair, and reassemble various pieces of technology, although they might specialize in a specific kind of machinery. CE Technicians are always up to date on the most recent technologies emerging in the medical field and help ensure that other hospital staff members use the machinery safely. A caregiver in this position works days from 6:00 a.m. – 3:33 p.m. with on-call and weekend requirements. Start/end times are flexible.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED and two years of experience troubleshooting and maintaining medical equipment or equipment in a mechanical or electrical technician field OR Associate’s Degree in Biomechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Information Technology OR equivalent specialized or military training.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Clinical Engineer (CCE) or Biomedical Engineering Technologist (BMET)
  • Associate’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering Technology
  • IT or networking experience, troubleshooting skills, teamwork, customer service, independence, and a thirst for knowledge

Responsibilities

  • Provide routine and as needed clinical engineering services (repair, maintenance, relocation, installation, etc.) for equipment.
  • Maintain documentation of equipment, inventory, service and repairs.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on equipment.
