About The Position

The multi-specialty soft-tissue surgery robot supports a minimally invasive surgical approach to a broad range of procedures across patient anatomy and surgical specialties. Building upon a deep understanding of patient and physician needs, we are developing a platform for the next evolution of soft-tissue robotic care! We are a team of clinical, electrical, mechanical, mechatronics, robotic controls, and software engineers who are passionate about improving patient care. As a member of the Clinical Engineering team you will join us on our journey to design and build one of the world's most advanced medical robotic platforms. You will have the opportunity to understand user needs, establish clinical and engineering requirements, consider clinical risks, and identify solutions to guide product development. Requirements

  • Hold a bachelor's degree in engineering (e.g. Biomedical, Mechanical) with 0 to 3 years of related experience in medical device industry
  • Showcase a proven track record of effectively and clearly communicating concepts, ideas, and knowledge to other engineers and teams
  • Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree (Masters)
  • Have experience constructing customer and engineering design requirements
  • Familiar with fundamental concepts in surgical robotics
  • Experience working in a highly regulated industry (e.g., healthcare, finance).
  • Have experience constructing customer, usability and engineering design requirements
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and a strong understanding of anatomy
  • Proficient in statistical methods and programming languages such as MatLab, Python is a plus
  • Robotic, optical, or mechanical system experiences is desirable

Responsibilities

  • Apply in-depth clinical, technical, and design control knowledge to discover, define, develop, and validate new product
  • Discover unmet clinical needs, establish customer requirements and provide clinical input to engineering design requirements
  • Research relevant disease states, treatment options, patient pathways, surgical techniques, and competitive technologies
  • Develop test models and test methods for clinically relevant product evaluations
  • Lead physicians and key clinical users engagement on procedure development or product evaluation and use collected insights to guide project teams on next steps
  • Create and document new product clinical use workflows, assess clinical hazards, and propose mitigations
