About The Position

Provides companywide oversight of all internal Continuing Education Programs taught by the company, ensuring compliance to all required regulations issued by the governing agencies of the American Heart Association and the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians to include the qualifications required for this position.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five years current ED or ICU Nursing experience or Pre Hospital EMS experience
  • Minimum of five years of AHA, NAEMT and/or AAP Teaching Experience
  • Minimum One (1) year management experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills (word processor, database).
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license in primary state of assignment.
  • Current RN Licensure or Paramedic Certification
  • Current AHA BLS Instructor Status required
  • Current AHA ACLS Instructor Status required
  • Current AHA PALS Instructor Status required
  • Current NAEMT PHTLS Instructor Status required
  • Current AMALS Instructor Status required
  • Current AHA Regional Faculty or Training Center Faculty Status required

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor Degree in Nursing or Education preferred

Responsibilities

  • Oversees Instructor and Process Development
  • Establishes and maintains organizational compliance with nationally recognized accreditation agencies
  • Establishes and maintains working relationships with Local, State, and National AHA, AAP and NAEMT Officials
  • Ensures that all programs provided by the company meet the guidelines set forth by the appropriate governing bodies through a defined quality assurance program
  • Maintains records on all instructors providing education programs through REACH Medical Holdings to ensure regulatory compliance
  • Submits all required annual training reports as required by company, regulatory and/or credentialing agencies
  • Works with the base leadership to support national certification accreditation standards, to include FP-C, CCP-C, CCRN and CFRN
  • Works with base leadership to create relevant continuing education programs for use in internal and outreach education programs
  • Serves as a resource for instructors and line level employees in AHA, NAEMT, NREMT, IBSC, AACN, BCEN and AAP programs
  • Conducts a minimum of two AHA instructor courses per year for individuals within the company requiring or desiring instructor status, as needed
  • Provides Instructor updates as required by regulatory and/or credentialing agencies
  • Ensures that all instructors are monitored by qualified personnel every two years as required by regulatory and/or credentialing agencies
  • Oversees ‘Continuing Education Units’ (CEU) process for internal education
  • Schedules and maintain, via the company Education Calendar, programs being offered internally on behalf of the Company.
  • Works with the department leadership to create and maintain all policies and procedures related to internal continuing education and training
  • Oversees the processing of all internal AHA and NAEMT course completion rosters and issues course completion cards and/or certificates as indicated
  • Provides training and compliance statistical reports to Company leadership on a quarterly basis
  • Conducts thorough, objective investigations of complaints received with regard to classes taught on behalf of the company and submits detailed reports to all appropriate regulatory agencies and Company leadership
  • Performs all other duties as assigned by the leadership.

  • Seeks out and utilizes best practices to solve problems at the level the work is being done.
  • Incorporates Lean Learning principles into daily operations when possible.
  • As a member of the Clinical Operations team, participates in the ongoing development, implementation and evaluation of SOP’s and Clinical Protocols.
  • As a member of the Clinical Operations team, participates in the ongoing development, implementation and evaluation of a quality management program designed to measure and ensure that the Company is appropriately responsive to its users’ needs, and that the patient care delivered is appropriate and effective through education and training.
