About The Position

Working directly with the Unit Manager and reporting directly to the Director, Surgery & Perioperative Services, the Clinical Educator is an integral member of the Program’s leadership team. This educator role will be located at the Credit Valley Hospital and will focus on the inpatient surgery unit.

Requirements

  • Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario and in good standing
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing is required
  • Master’s degree required – at a minimum the incumbent is expected to enroll in a Master’s Program within 12 months of starting the role
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and delivering educational programs
  • Computer skills, i.e. PowerPoint, Excel
  • Excellent communication, presentation and facilitation skills – both written and verbal
  • Understanding of adult education techniques and ability to prepare and teach in both classroom and clinical settings
  • Strong critical thinking, decision making, problem solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development
  • Commitment to evidence-based practice and quality improvement

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum five years inpatient surgery preferred
