About The Position

The clinical educator is responsible for preparing and mentoring current and future generations of clinical and non-clinical staff. Clinical educators play a pivotal role in strengthening the workforce, serving as role models and providing the leadership needed to implement evidence-based practice.

Requirements

Current RN license for State of California.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Health Services, or equivalent preferred.
Certified Nurse Educator certification preferred.
Masters in Nursing preferred
BLS and ACLS

Nice To Haves

A minimum two years of experience developing educational programs preferred.
Three years teaching experience or coordination preferred.
Five years minimum acute care experience preferred.
Experience in an Intensive Critical Unit preferred.

Responsibilities

Design and implement academic and continuing education programs, hospital orientation, and a selected part of nursing orientation for new nursing department employees.
Conducts needs assessments using a variety of strategic tools.
Perform advanced evaluations and provide guidance for testing new procedures.
Plans, prepares and maintains materials for use in educational programs for accuracy and relevance to the target audience.
Identifies and evaluates instructional materials in all types of media, formats, platforms and methodologies.
Prepares short and long-term planning and programs to address identified needs.
Assess and set goals for educational programs, updating them when needed.
Serves as an educational consultant to facilities, task forces, committees, and projects relating to policy, procedure and program development.
Create a culture which supports and encourages continual learning.
Able to take a patient assignment based on hospital needs.
