Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of North Carolina.
  • BLS/CPR certification required.

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years clinical educational experience leading and developing clinical education programs.
  • Two years of clinical/ambulatory nursing experience preferred.
  • Master's degree in clinical/nursing education high desired.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitates and provides for the education needs of the clinical staff, including orientation, overseeing clinical student programs, staff in-services, education, clinical quality improvement initiatives, and educational/training programs for staff development.
  • Annually reviews and revises the Clinical Policy and Procedure in consultation with the Director of Clinical Services and Senior Management.
  • Coordinates the orientation process for new staff members utilizing the preceptor model and ensures all documentation for all new nursing personnel, including agency staff, are completed prior to completion of the orientation period.
  • Evaluates the orientation process, recommending and implementing changes when appropriate.
  • Manages the Clinical Preceptor Program.
  • Oversees and manages the PMC CMA Academy, including teaching and creating course content.
  • Serves as a resource in developing relevant clinical-specific education.
  • Manages the clinical student program, including setting up rotations, partnering with various schools to determine needs and availability, and serving as the liaison between PMC and Colleges/Universities.
  • Schedules and conducts in-service programs for new supplies, equipment, and instruments.
  • Partners with Clinical Applications/EMR trainer on establishing training processes and associated workflows.
  • Serves as backup for the Clinical Applications/EMR trainer as needed.
  • Assists with identifying opportunities to improve documentation required to close quality gap measures.
  • Completes evaluation data/studies with the intent of assisting the Director of Clinical Services and staff to identify and initiate changes in nursing practices and patient care satisfaction.
  • Identifies resources necessary to facilitate Performance Improvement activities.
  • Assists with the development, implementation, and evaluation of plans when indicated.
  • Provides leadership in clinical problem-solving and works on projects to promote optimum patient care.
  • Serves as leader on clinic quality programs as needed.
  • Maintains and updates clinical training material as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
