About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Clinical Educator Registered Nurse to join our Pediatric Care Center. This role provides leadership in advancing clinical practice, supporting caregiver competency, and promoting evidence-based care. Working collaboratively with the unit clinical team and the Nursing Professional Development (NPD) team, the Clinical Educator plays a key role in orientation, role transition, ongoing education, and professional growth. This position aligns practice with the organization’s Nursing Professional Practice Model and ANCC Magnet® standards.

Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Delaware or a multistate RN license that allows you to work in Delaware
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) ; or willing to sign education agreement to obtain BSN within 3 years of hire date required
  • Minimum of two years of acute care pediatric nursing experience
  • Minimum of two year of emergency department nursing experience
  • BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications required

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in clinical education, staff development, or precepting preferred
  • TNCC and ENPC certifications strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform and document accurate clinical assessments upon admission and throughout hospitalization
  • Identify patient care needs and develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans
  • Monitor patient responses and adjust care interventions accordingly
  • Administer medications safely and in accordance with established standards
  • Provide age-appropriate care utilizing pediatric growth and development principles
  • Respond effectively to patient emergencies and crisis situations
  • Develop, coordinate, and evaluate orientation programs and competency plans for caregivers
  • Support role transition, mentorship, and succession planning within the clinical team
  • Apply adult learning principles to create effective educational experiences
  • Serve as a resource for evidence-based practice, clinical standards, and quality initiatives
  • Plan, implement, and evaluate educational programs to ensure knowledge translates into practice
  • Identify and provide professional development opportunities based on staff and unit needs
  • Individualize education for patients and families, adapting teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs
