About The Position

Inova Fairfax Medical Campus is looking for an RN Clinical Educator Nursing to work with the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU). The CICU is a fast-paced cardiac critical care environment that strongly emphasizes teamwork, excellent patient care, and providing a variety of learning opportunities to support the professional growth of the team. Our high-performing nursing team collaborates closely with extensively trained medical colleagues, including a Cardiac Intensivist, Medical Intensivists, Interventionalists, and Cardiologists rotating as CICU attending, Cardiology Fellows, and Advanced Practice Providers. Requirements

Education: Master’s Degree or BSN and enrolled in Master’s program upon start. If RN has a BSN and enrolled in Master’s program, RN must meet with their Nurse Leader within 3 months to conduct the following:
Provide a written plan with anticipated Masters completion date
Submit a review of transcripts from the school indicating the required pre-requisites and timeline for taking the courses
Complete Masters within 3 years of start date.
Experience: 2 years of progressive experience in nursing in designated specialty; 3 months of experience serving as preceptor
Certification: BLS from the American Heart Association; Licensed or eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse or an active multi-state RN License.

Responsibilities

Utilizes system strategies and tools to assess the competency of new nursing staff members while focusing on quality of care and patient safety goals.
Integrates theoretical knowledge, evidence-based principles and clinical nursing expertise into educational experiences for both new and experienced team members.
Prepares annual self-development plans, sets professional goals and seek opportunities for achieving them.
Contributes to quality and safety initiatives across the organization.
