Requirements

• Minimum Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred or Registered Nurse with equivalent years of experience.
• Minimum Experience: Three (3) years nursing experience required.
• One (1) year in Long Term Care required.
• Two (2) years in an education role (i.e., mentor/preceptor, clinical education) required.
• Hospice/palliative care experience required.
• Current Colorado nursing license (LPN or RN).
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid Colorado driver’s license and proof of automobile insurance in accordance with state statute.

• CHPN certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with the VP of Clinical Education to ensure programs align with Care Synergy and Affiliate mission and goals.
• Manages orientation programs, delivers new hire orientation content, monitors onboarding competency checklist completion.
• Delivers ongoing in-service training, workshops, creates online content, and updates on regulatory changes, new equipment, and best practices.
• Provides simulated experiences to evaluate clinical judgment, task performance, and skill development.
• Designs educational tools, learning modules, and simulation exercises tailored to varied experience levels.
• Acts as a resource and career mentor to clinical staff to improve care quality.
• Align educational programs with evidence-based practices to improve patient outcomes and safety.
• Collaborate with leadership to update clinical policies, procedures, and protocols based on current guidelines.
• Maintain educational records and documentation required for institutional compliance and accreditation.
• Mentors/trains clinical nurses ensuring they have complete knowledge of their clinical practice/responsibilities as well as electronic medical records (EMR) and documentation.
• Creates engaging learning activities and compelling course content that enhances retention.
• Utilizes feedback from learners and subject matter experts to continuously improve curriculum.
• State Compliance: Collaborates with the VP of Clinical Education to ensure the Care Synergy CNA School program complies with requirements of the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies requirements for Certified Nurse Aide Training Programs.
• Student Verification: Oversee student records, verify program completion, and submit authorized documentation to Credentia (Colorado's test vendor) so students can take the state exam.
• Audit & Inspections: Prepare documentation for ongoing evaluation and participate directly in on-site state regulatory inspections
• Clinical Site Partnership Management: Source, secure, and maintain clinical placement contracts with local healthcare facilities (long-term care, rehabilitation centers).
• Scheduling: Coordinate classroom calendars, laboratory setups, and clinical rotation schedules.
• Student Onboarding: Work closely with Human Resources and facilities to ensure students meet specific requirements prior to their rotations
• Teaching: Deliver classroom lectures, oversee online modules, and instruct hands-on skills lab lessons.
• Clinical Supervision: Accompany and directly supervise all students during their mandatory 16+ hours of direct patient care clinical rotations at contracted healthcare facilities, ensuring rigid adherence to state-mandated instructor-to-student ratios.
• Student Assessment: Design, administer, and grade all examinations, skills check-offs, and practical performance reviews.
• Curriculum Development: Periodically review and update instructional materials to match modern medical practices and updated state testing requirements.
