The Clinical Educator Cardiology is responsible for teaching and demonstrating proficiency in patient physical assessment skills, patient care, and nursing skills. This role reinforces policies, procedures, protocols, and guidelines with nursing staff. The educator coordinates nursing-centered rounds and bedside reporting, and provides service line-specific unit educational programs in collaboration with preceptors and the Nursing Practice Development Specialist (NPDS). They ensure the quality of professional services by maintaining competency and continuing professional growth, communicating effectively and professionally, and collaborating with leadership to design, implement, and evaluate the nursing unit's orientation and annual needs assessment education plan. The role also involves creating and maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment, supporting age/developmentally appropriate patient care, and teaching interpretation of nurse-sensitive indicators and performance improvement strategies.
