The Clinical Education Manager is responsible for the planning, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of educational programs to support the clinical competency, professional development, and regulatory compliance of nursing and clinical staff. This role ensures that all clinical education initiatives align with Parkside’s mission, vision, values, and commitment to delivering high-quality psychiatric and behavioral health care. The Clinical Education Manager collaborates closely with hospital leadership, department managers, and frontline staff to assess training needs, develop evidence-based education, maintain regulatory readiness, and foster a culture of continuous learning.

Requirements

  • Current RN license in the State of Oklahoma.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) required.
  • Minimum of 5 years clinical nursing experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in clinical education, staff development, or training.
  • Minimum of (1) year experience in a behavioral health setting.
  • CPR/First Aid Certification.
  • Aggression Management and Trauma Informed, de-escalation training.
  • Documentation must be cosigned by the appropriate licensed individual.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Nursing, Education, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and evaluate educational programs to enhance clinical competencies for nursing, mental health technicians, and other professional roles.
  • Coordinate onboarding, orientation, and competency validation for all newly hired clinical staff.
  • Develop and update annual competency assessments to meet The Joint Commission, CMS, DHS, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Integrate evidence-based practices, emerging trends, and regulatory changes into educational programming.
  • Serve as a resource and role model for clinical excellence and professional practice.
  • Partner with leaders to identify education gaps and create targeted training plans.
  • Mentor preceptors, clinical trainers, and staff educators to ensure consistent and effective delivery of education.
  • Maintain readiness for surveys and audits by ensuring staff education and competencies meet all regulatory requirements.
  • Document all training activities in compliance with hospital policy and accrediting body standards.
  • Support quality improvement initiatives by developing education tied to safety events, incident reviews, and performance metrics.
  • Provide opportunities for staff growth through workshops, in-services, and continuing education.
  • Monitor clinical trends and recommend educational initiatives to address evolving patient care needs.
  • Support certification preparation and career advancement pathways for clinical staff.
  • Track and report education participation, competency completion, and training outcomes.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of educational interventions and adjust content or delivery methods accordingly.
  • Prepare reports and recommendations for leadership on education program performance.
  • Participate in team meetings, contributing to discussions, and sharing insights and suggestions.
  • Maintains a positive working relationship within the department and with other departments.
  • Maintains fit for duty.
  • Acts in a professional manner and follows all of Parkside policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrates the ability to be organized and flexible, acts appropriately in stressful/emergency situations.
  • Able to provide therapeutic de-escalation when needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
