About The Position

The Home Health, Clinical Documentation Specialist is responsible for reviewing medical records to facilitate the accurate representation of the severity of illness by improving the quality of the physician and mid level providers clinical documentation. This involves extensive record review interaction with physicians and other applicable clinicians Health Information Management professionals and clinical staff. Active participation in team meetings and education of staff in the Clinical Documentation Integrity Program process is a key role.

Requirements

  • 1 year of applicable experience
  • Registered Nurse (KS) - National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NURSYS)
  • Registered Nurse (MO) - National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NURSYS)
  • Associate Degree

Responsibilities

  • Review medical records to accurately represent the severity of illness.
  • Improve the quality of physician and mid-level provider clinical documentation.
  • Conduct extensive record reviews.
  • Interact with physicians, applicable clinicians, Health Information Management professionals, and clinical staff.
  • Actively participate in team meetings.
  • Educate staff on the Clinical Documentation Integrity Program process.
