Educator, through diverse assignments, supports and participates in educational activities to improve of the quality, completeness and accuracy of clinical documentation for Cooper University Physicians (CUP.)

Requirements

  • Physician coding and compliance experience with significant emphasis on/strong background in Evaluation and Management services.
  • Training and presentation experience with physicians and other clinicians both individually and in groups.
  • Accomplished in the preparation of PowerPoint presentations and other supplemental training materials.
  • Previous work experience in the auditing and coding of professional clinical documentation; both handwritten and electronic medical records.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; Associates degree in Nursing or other relevant Associate degree also considered.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications needed to perform in position; Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel.
  • Confident and professional public speaker with exemplary verbal and written communication skills.
  • Well-versed in using, referring to and researching CMS and other federal and local clinical documentation and compliance guidelines, CPT, ICD-9-CM and HCPCS codes, Evaluation and Management Documentation Guidelines and PATH guidelines.
  • CPC and/or CCS-P; Nursing certification and/or Compliance certification a plus.
  • Valid Driver’s License (will need to travel to CUH satellite locations as necessary)
