As a Clinical Director , you will provide onsite leadership and oversight of all clinical programs and teammates within the facility. This role requires a strong, visible clinical presence and the ability to lead, mentor, and develop teams while ensuring regulatory compliance, clinical excellence, and high-quality patient outcomes. You will work independently with minimal supervision while partnering closely with executive leadership to meet the needs of the population we serve. Requirements

  • Master’s degree from an accredited institution in a behavioral science, mental health discipline, or recognized helping profession
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in substance use disorder treatment, including individual and group counseling, treatment planning, and case management
  • Multiple years of experience supervising and/or managing clinical services within a substance use disorder program and clinical team
  • Clinical orientation compatible with residential treatment and the twelve-step philosophy
  • Active, independent licensure in the state of Virginia: Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
  • Valid driver’s license in good standing
  • Local travel up to 15% may be required
  • Occasional overnight travel may be expected

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance of all clinical programs with CARF, Detox, Residential, and Ambulatory Division (DR&A) standards and all state and federal regulations
  • Oversee daily clinical operations, staffing, and program flow based on patient needs
  • Monitor patient participation and engagement across services
  • Ensure quality assurance of clinical documentation and confidentiality
  • Facilitate clinical meetings addressing treatment progress, behavioral concerns, and crisis intervention
  • Provide individual and group supervision in accordance with Pinnacle policies and state licensing standards
  • Observe group programming and provide coaching, feedback, and training to clinical staff
  • Conduct annual performance evaluations and probationary reviews for new hires
  • Monitor compliance with training, licensure, and continuing education requirements
  • Ensure timely reporting and resolution of clinical incident reports
  • Support operations as needed, including facilitating groups or managing a caseload during census fluctuations
  • Assist in maintaining appropriate census levels and supporting discharge and transition planning
  • Collaborate closely with the Executive Director and administrative leadership
  • Attend meetings, complete required training, and perform other duties as assigned
