About The Position

Gaudenzia is seeking a Clinical Director to join their team. This role is for individuals who are hope-bringers and changemakers, dedicated to promoting long-term recovery by providing comprehensive treatment and support to people with substance use disorder, co-occurring mental health disorders, and related conditions. The ideal candidate is a leader who enjoys working with diverse backgrounds, can engage in difficult conversations with compassion and respect, and has the ability to develop, influence, train, and lead others. A strong understanding of ASAM criteria, biopsychosocial characteristics of substance use disorder and/or mental illness, client-centered principles, and Motivational Interviewing strategies is essential.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in social work, counseling, psychology, or equivalent field.
  • Specialized training in supervision.
  • Required licensure or certification: LCPC, LCADC, or CAC-AD with supervisor’s letter from the Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists OR LCSW-C from the Board of Social Work with supervisor’s letter from the Board of Professional Counselors.
  • Knowledge of ASAM criteria and corresponding levels of care.
  • Knowledge of biopsychosocial characteristics and other comorbid behaviors of substance use disorder and/or mental illness.
  • Considerable knowledge of individual and group behavior and effective ways of working with people based on client-centered principles and Motivational Interviewing strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and monitor training plans for clinical staff based on client and facility needs, ensuring alignment with best practices, state regulations, and licensing entities.
  • Implement treatment schedules to promote appropriate clinical interventions.
  • Provide close supervision of counselors and therapists, including oversight of required documentation such as electronic client health records and treatment entries, in accordance with established policies and regulatory agencies.
  • Intervene in difficult cases and approve all referrals to specialized care.
  • Supervise the aftercare component of treatment.
  • Attend, participate, and facilitate meetings and special events like retreats, trips, and workshops.
  • Maintain a small client caseload when necessary.
  • Support and demonstrate adherence to Gaudenzia’s Standards of Conduct and all personnel policies and procedures.
  • Maintain appropriate professional certificates and credentials.
  • Assume responsibility for the facility in the absence of the Director.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Program Director or designee.
