About The Position

The Clinical Director is responsible for supervising the delivery of counseling services at Grace Counseling and other sites as needed. This position is Community Based and will travel to our sites in Kerrville, Uvalde, and around the San Antonio area. This position is responsible for recruitment, hiring and training of all staff under their supervision. The Clinical Director supervises all assigned program therapists and interns within all Community Programs and some Shelter Programs. The Clinical Director monitors program progress, successes and challenges. Clinical Director is responsible for providing required outcome reports and correspondence to funding sources and the agency. The Clinical Director will also act as a therapist by providing services to participants’ onsite and/or other locations throughout the Archdiocese. The Clinical Director will assist the Senior Director of Counseling in managing the budget, including monitoring expenses, productivity studies, reimbursement billing, grant writing, and fund development. The Clinical Director acts as a representative of the Counseling Department and the agency at community meetings, events and parishes through the Archdiocese.

Requirements

• Master’s Degree from school accredited in licensure discipline.
• Minimum of 3 years post-graduate experience in individual, family, and/or group therapy.
• Reliable transportation.
• Valid driver license, with a clean driving record.
• Valid vehicle insurance.
• Licensed in one or more of the following: Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
• Must have a Supervisory designation or be eligible to apply for one within the first year of employment.
• Must understand both the clinical and business aspect of managing a clinical team.
• Minimum of 5 years post-graduate experience in counseling adults, teens, children, couples, and/or families.
• Extensive working knowledge of the process of change, and trauma informed care.
• Experience and proficiency with computer software: Electronic Health Record, email, internet, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• A solid grasp of public speaking.
• Must be skilled in time management and ability to work on multiple projects at the same time.
• Must be detail oriented, organized, self-motivated, work well independently and on a team.
• Must have good written and verbal skills.
• Must have good critical thinking and problem solving skills.

Nice To Haves

• Preferred experience with Traumatized clients, Foster Care and Pre- and Post-Partum Counseling.
• Experience supervising clinical team is preferred.
• Ability to engage in clinical services in both English and Spanish is a PLUS.

Responsibilities

• Recruitment, interviewing, hiring and training new employees under their supervision.
• Making recommendations for performance improvement and/or termination.
• Disseminating program information to other community programs, agencies and entities by phone, mail, email, and via community meetings and events.
• Ensuring the counseling program adheres to procedures and protocols of designated funding entity (i.e. Texas Pregnancy Care Network, VOCA).
• Training new hires, interns and all assigned staff including agency procedures and protocols and documentation requirements.
• Developing, assessing and making recommendations based on a weekly productivity report for all therapists and interns.
• Monitoring client files for required forms, accuracy, appropriate documentation, and service review for all clinicians on your team.
• Attending grant-related and collaborative meetings for counseling program.
• Assisting with grant proposals and presenting information to potential funding sources as required.
• Providing specified monthly/quarterly reports for counseling program to funding source and/or agency.
• Monitoring job performance of all staff based on services provided, program procedures, and program/grant goals.
• Providing staff with monthly Supportive Supervision and a formal annual review.
• Providing counseling services to individual clients (adults, teens and children), couples and families – this is a case carrying Lead Therapist position. A minimum of 10% of your day will be focused on clients.
• Providing fill in duties when other Clinical Director is on leave.
• Overseeing and ensuring the on-call schedule is updated and that the therapists provide the appropriate services.
• Providing back up for the shelter staff in case the on-call therapist doesn’t respond.
• Completing and maintaining up-to-date intake forms, mental health assessments, service plans and session notes.
• Providing all personal and professional information necessary to obtain insurance credentialing.
• Completing state requirements to maintain licensure in good standing.
• Attending professional workshops, conferences and seminars to increase and update knowledge in the area of counseling.
• Facilitating and/or assigning workshops and groups arranged by the counseling department.
• Participating in promotional activities and community outreach events.
• Conducting weekly staff supervision (group or individual), team meetings and case conferences.
• Supervising and assigning interns to job duties.
• Making appropriate referral for clients when necessary.
• Abiding by all Catholic Charities, Archdiocese of San Antonio, Inc. rules and regulations.
• Completing all professional required training in a timely manner.
• Ensuring all staff complete all required professional training in a timely manner.
• Being sensitive to the service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.
• Adhering to safety training and protocols on a daily basis and taking precautionary measures to ensure the safety and well-being of self, others.
• Protecting the confidentiality of any information or material obtained in the service with the organization to include but not limited to client names and information, services rendered to clients, donors names and gifts, internal and external investigations or results of any investigations, and financial information.
• Adherence to the Code of Conduct and the Faith and Moral Policy is mandatory.
• Taking a trauma informed and solution-oriented approach in interactions and undertakings, as well as being a team member that promotes collaboration and commitment to the Mission and Vision of the organization.
• Performing other duties as assigned by COO, VP, and/or Senior Director.
