About The Position

The Opportunity Alliance is seeking a full-time Clinical Director of Homeless Case Management to support the Projects for Assistance in Transition from Homelessness (PATH) and Homeless Youth Services (HYS) programs. The PATH team offers outreach, engagement, and referral services for individuals with mental illness and co-occurring substance use disorders experiencing homelessness in York and Cumberland County. The HYS program provides community-based case management for youth and families at risk of or experiencing homelessness in southern Maine. This is a management position involving consultative, supervisory, clinical, and technical responsibilities, including program oversight, staff supervision, and administrative coordination.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in social work or a related field required.
  • LMSW-CC, LCPC-C, LCSW or LCPC required.
  • 3-5 years of experience working with children and adults in a clinical setting.
  • Strong and diverse clinical knowledge, including fluency in recovery-oriented service, trauma-informed care, Motivational Interviewing, treatment of co-occurring disorders, and the principles of harm reduction required.
  • Technical literacy.
  • Knowledge of DSM-V.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Exposure to research and analysis.
  • Financial management skills.
  • Demonstrated team effectiveness and consensus building.
  • Demonstrated computer efficiency is a requirement.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a criminal background, child protective service check & sex offender check.
  • Must not be on the state or federal suspension and disbarment list.
  • Normal office conditions such as sitting, with occasional standing, walking, reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, typing and lifting up to 10 pounds.
  • A good driving record is required.

Nice To Haves

  • 1-2 years of work experience at the management level in the content areas of this position preferred.
  • Experience working with Outreach services.
  • Background in Children and/or Adult Case Management as well as adult homelessness, mental health issues, substance use, and trauma preferred.
  • Experience in developing successful relationships with vital work partners preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and oversight of the Projects for Assistance in Transition from Homelessness (PATH) and Homeless Youth Services (HYS) programs.
  • Oversee programming for PATH and HYS.
  • Supervise staff within the PATH and HYS programs.
  • Provide administrative coordination for the PATH and HYS programs.
  • Conduct outreach, engagement, and referral services for people with mental illness and co-occurring substance use disorders experiencing homelessness.
  • Offer community-based case management services to youth and families at risk of or experiencing homelessness.
  • Ensure services are recovery-oriented, trauma-informed, and utilize principles of harm reduction.
  • Manage program budgets and financial aspects.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with work partners.
  • Ensure computer efficiency and proper use of technology.
  • Ensure successful passing of criminal background, child protective service check & sex offender check.
  • Ensure not to be on the state or federal suspension and disbarment list.
  • Drive as necessary for meetings, training, and client offsite meetings.
  • Transport clients or drive to agency locations as needed.
