About The Position

This position oversees the delivery of consumer support services for an Intensive Rehabilitation Treatment Program (IRTS). The Clinical Director supervises personnel to achieve service, clinical, and financial objectives within general resources and reimbursement models. This role provides and develops clinical services that promote consumer choice and facilitate independence for adult individuals with mental illnesses and co-occurring disorders.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in social work, counseling, or closely related field required.
  • Two-year previous supervisory experience preferred (must be clinical supervision)
  • Experience in managing systems, processes, and people
  • Experience with Diagnostic Assessments required
  • Working knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations concerning services to individuals with mental illness, including IRTS variance
  • Licensure required (LICSW, LP, LPCC, or LMFT)
  • Minimum of 4000 hours (post Master’s) of verifiable work experience providing services and support to individuals with mental illness.
  • Valid Driver’s License and valid car insurance
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing
  • Operate general office equipment
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Capable of working responsibly with highly confidential information
  • Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Travel as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Clinical oversight of all services at a set location
  • Organizing admissions and discharges
  • Conducting Assessments (e.g., Diagnostic, LOCUS, Mental Health Review, Suicidal, and evaluation level of danger/risk)
  • Interpreting and summarizing findings with recommended treatment/rehabilitation activities and goals
  • Hiring new employees and warranting corrective actions when needed
  • Overseeing Case Coordination and the development of the individual treatment/rehabilitation plan
  • Preventing crisis at the lowest level of escalation
  • Providing direct service to clients
  • On-Call Duties
  • Weekly supervision with direct reports
  • Conducting weekly staff meetings for the location
  • Utilizing behavior management strategies
  • Ensuring quality assurance, including person served outcomes and service outcomes
  • Overseeing compliance with location's license and CARF accreditation
  • Maintaining competent and effective personnel at budgeted staffing patterns and salary ranges
  • Writing progress notes, summaries, and discharges as needed
  • Medication Administration
  • Assisting in the development and execution of the annual budget and program contract within the county time frame
  • Recognizing responsibility to meet bed utilization goals
  • Managing program budget for household expenditures
  • Handling information in a confidential manner
  • Communicating in an open and honest manner
  • Notifying proper authorities of circumstances or situations that present possible health hazards
  • Observing and implementing established policies on health, safety, security, code of conduct, regulation, and company policies
  • Ensuring all documentation is completed as required
  • Reporting significant/major incidents or accidents
  • Cooperating in external/internal investigations as requested
  • Establishing high levels of mutual trust and support with others
  • Providing a coaching/learning environment
  • Identifying successes and areas for improvement for employees
  • Expressing positive expectations of others, even in difficult situations
  • Delegating tasks or responsibilities for the purpose of developing others' abilities
  • Rewarding good performance and promoting employee recognition
  • Providing clinical training to new/transferring employees
  • Developing and implementing staff training programs designated to meet staff educational needs, licensing standards, and consumer needs
  • Encouraging staff to report issues of non-compliance through appropriate channels
  • Conducting Employee evaluations when scheduled
  • Providing clinical direction to program staff
  • Providing and developing clinical services that promote consumer choice and facilitate independence
  • Supervising operations to ensure compliance with contractual, legal, and regulatory requirements
  • Providing clinical input and supervision in treatment and plan development
  • Performing other duties designed to improve employee effectiveness as a member of the team, promoting the operation in a positive manner to the community and outside agencies
  • Promoting/encouraging community integration and choice making
  • Providing the necessary clinical management for the day-to-day operations of the program and maintenance of the location
  • Other duties as assigned
