About The Position
The Clinical Dietitian will be responsible for nutritional assessment, developing meal plans, tracking patient progress, collaborating with healthcare professionals, educating patients and families, and ensuring dietary staff align with prescribed diets and safety standards. This is a per diem position with variable shifts available, located at Dallas Regional Medical Center in Mesquite, TX.
Requirements
- Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) license
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a clinical setting providing patient nutritional care
- Strong understanding of medical nutrition therapy (MNT)
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills
- Ability to educate and motivate patients and families on healthy eating habits
- Proficient in electronic medical records (EMR) systems
Responsibilities
- Perform nutritional assessments to evaluate patients' dietary needs based on medical conditions, lab results, and health history.
- Develop individualized meal plans to support recovery, manage chronic diseases, or address specific conditions like diabetes, heart disease, or malnutrition.
- Track patients’ progress, adjust meal plans as needed, and ensure nutritional goals are met.
- Work closely with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to integrate nutrition into patient care plans.
- Educate patients and their families about proper nutrition, special diets, or post-discharge meal planning.
- Ensure meals prepared by the dietary staff align with prescribed diets and safety standards.
