About The Position
Within the context of a patient and family centred care model and in accordance with established standards of professional practice and the vision and values of the organization, works in a team based environment and provides clinical dietetic services to patients and patient care programs through the assessment, planning, implementing and outcome evaluation of nutritional goals and care plans. Provides recommendations based on assessment and treatment modalities regarding oral and/or enteral nutrition support regime. Collaborates with members of the health care team and participates in practice-based research projects. About the Services at Joseph & Rosalie Segal & Family Health Centre - Mental Health & Substance Use Inpatient Units The Segal Psychiatric Inpatient Units are located on Levels 5 to 8 in the Joseph & Rosalie Segal & Family Health Centre at Vancouver General Hospital. Psychiatric inpatient services provide assessment and treatment to adults who require acute 24-hour management in a hospital setting. There are 75 beds focused on clients who require longer-term, intensive treatment to return to their community. The length of stay is approximately five to 12 days. The Segal Psychiatric Inpatient Units include: Brief Intervention Unit – Segal 5th floor Mood Disorders – Segal 6th floor Inpatient Psychiatry – Segal 7th floor Inpatient Psychiatry & Concurrent Disorders – Segal 8th floor About Intensive Tertiary Rehabilitation (Segal 4): Adult intensive tertiary mental health rehabilitation provides inpatient service to people with complex mental illness that has stabilized to the degree that acute treatment is no longer required but rehabilitation is still required. This program consists of 25 beds in a beautiful state of the art environment featuring expansive indoor and outdoor spaces, private rooms with baths and many special amenities. The team consists of highly skilled interdisciplinary staff. Programming for group and individual therapy is unique and creative. Our clients may stay for extended rehabilitation. Requirements
- Current full registration as a Dietitian with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC (CHCPBC).
- Demonstrated competency in designing, compounding, dispensing and administering enteral nutrition (formerly know as Restricted Activity A and C).
- Valid BC Driver's License and access to a personal vehicle for business-related purposes, as required.
- Knowledge of clinical dietetic theory and practice within a patient and family centred model of care.
- Knowledge of the standards of practice and guidelines for clinical practitioners established by the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC (CHCPBC).
- Knowledge of enteral nutrition.
- Knowledge of other health care disciplines and their role in patient care.
- Knowledge of research process and methodology.
