About The Position

Sodexo is seeking a full-time Registered Dietitian to join our team at MedStar Harbor Hospital in Baltimore, MD. This private, non-profit, 150-bed acute care teaching hospital is beautifully situated along the Patapsco River in South Baltimore. We welcome both new graduates and experienced dietitians to apply—this is a great opportunity to grow your clinical skills in a supportive environment. We’re looking for a dietitian to work Monday through Friday, with no routine weekend coverage. The schedule offers a high degree of flexibility to support your individual needs and work-life balance, making this an ideal role for candidates seeking both professional growth and personal balance.

Requirements

  • Registered and Licensed Dietitian (or eligible) in Maryland
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Good time management skills
  • Be a self-starter and a team player
  • Ability to work well with physicians, nursing, and ancillary staff
  • Meets eligibility requirements for Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD/RDN) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) and will become registered within 120 days of hire.
  • Certification/licensure as required by state(s) of practice.

Nice To Haves

  • For those eligible for the registration exam prior to 1/1/24: Bachelor's degree with completion of required coursework and supervised practice as dictated by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND)
  • In some states and/or facilities the RD/RDN credentials is required at the time of hire
  • In some states and/or facilities state certification/licensure is required at the time of hire

Responsibilities

  • Provide MNT for a variety of inpatient medical units
  • Educate patients regarding nutrition therapy for their acute and/or chronic diseases
  • Perform quality improvement initiatives such as peer chart audits and monthly test trays
  • Participate in nutrition programming for clinical staff and visitors and occasional community outreach, as well as monthly nutrition in-services to FNS staff
  • Assist in precepting Dietetic Interns during clinical rotations
