About The Position

Duke Health is committed to compassionate care and is seeking a Clinical Dietitian to join the Duke Urology Men’s Health Center in Raleigh, NC. This role is an integral part of the healthcare team, providing direct and indirect care to patients within the Duke Health Integrated Practice, which encompasses over 110 primary and specialty outpatient clinics across North Carolina.

Requirements

  • Baccalaureate degree in Food and Nutrition, Dietetics, Nutritional Sciences, Human Nutrition, or comparable major
  • Successful completion of coordinated program or dietetic internship of not less than 900 hours under the supervision of a Registered Dietitian
  • Registered dietitian (RD) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration; candidates eligible for registration may be hired with the expectation that registration will be achieved within 90 days of hire
  • Licensed dietitian/nutritionist (LDN) by the North Carolina Board of Dietetics and Nutrition; provision for license-eligible dietitians as above
  • At least 5 years of clinical experience or at least 3 years' clinical experience plus an approved, nutrition related certification (for Level II)

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate educational materials
  • Run group dietician portion of groups
  • Ensure template utilization
  • See patients both in person and virtually
  • Chart Reviews
  • Patient Surveys
  • Work with providers on orders for diet, supplement, enteral/parenteral nutrition and laboratory data per policy
  • Manage Inbasket: replying to messages received from other staff and patients
  • Review clinic days to include precharting and chart reviews
  • Schedule patients and reschedule as needed
  • Work with vendors and follow DHIP policy in regards to samples of supplements
  • Develop, review, update and implement educational materials to meet the needs of patients and professionals
  • Coordinate with APPs, RDs and clinic staff on timeoff and clinic coverage
  • Maintain registered dietitian (RD) status including continuing professional education per the Professional Development Portfolio
  • Maintain North Carolina Board of Nutrition and Dietetics licensure
  • Precept dietetic interns and provide on the job training for newly hired clinical staff
