Our patients are our number one priority! We're committed to giving children back their childhood! This position is PRN, as needed, with working hours from 8:30 am - 5:00 pm. The Clinical Dietitian PRN utilizes the Nutrition Care Process to perform comprehensive nutritional assessments and reassessments using age-appropriate standards and validated tools. This includes making nutrition-related diagnoses using the eNCP terminology approved by the Academy of Nutrition and dietetics. The role involves responding to consults and nutrition referrals within established timeframes, monitoring and evaluating patient progress, and adjusting nutrition interventions as needed. Communication with the medical team regarding nutrition intervention or plan of care is crucial, as is providing nutrition education to patients and families. Support for enteral and parenteral nutrition therapy is also a key responsibility, along with participating in hospitalist rounding, interdisciplinary meetings, and discharge rounds. Collaboration with physicians, nurses, speech therapists, and other healthcare professionals is expected. The role also involves communicating and coordinating meals, supplements, and enteral feeding regimens with FNS staff and ensuring compliance with clinical guidelines, regulatory standards, and hospital policies. Additionally, this position serves as a preceptor for dietetic interns.
