About The Position

Provides Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) and/or Diabetes Self-management Education/Training (DSMT). Uses sound judgment and developed clinical skills to implement the patient's plan of care based on the diagnosis in a timely manner. Builds patient and healthcare-provider confidence and cooperation through competent assessment, attentive monitoring and care, and effective communication. Follows local, state, and federal regulations, codes, policies, and procedures to protect privacy and safety while delivering patient care. The position is part-time, limited-term (fixed-term), and non-exempt. It is a day-shift role scheduled for 8-hour shifts, 24 hours per week, on variable days, with rotating weekend requirements. Benefits are available. The listed pay range is $53.98 to $75.57 per hour; actual starting pay may vary based on factors including experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, departmental equity, training, organizational needs, and work location.

Requirements

Complete an accredited degree program and a supervised practice program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics.
Complete credentialing within 45 days of hire and before billing.
Obtain RD (Registered Dietitian) or RDN (Registered Dietitian Nutritionist) credential within 90 days.
Have two years of recent relevant experience.
Demonstrate a strong understanding of human anatomy, pathophysiology, pharmacology, laboratory results, and medical terminology.
Have excellent written and verbal communication skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences, including non-medical people.
Have well-developed time-management and organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize assignments, work within standardized operating procedures, and meet deadlines.
Have general knowledge of computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, and electronic health records (EHR).
Be able to interpret data and instructions provided in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Be able to work autonomously and as part of a team, manage multiple tasks in an environment with interruptions, and resolve standard problems by selecting appropriate established solutions.
Be able to retain and apply new knowledge and skills.
