About The Position

The Clinical Dietitian II directs acute nutrition therapy utilizing comprehensive nutrition assessment which includes nutrition focused physical exam, determination of nutrition diagnosis, appropriate intervention, order writing, monitoring, and adjusting nutrition intervention. This position is expected to advance to a CNSC level within one year of hire. The Clinical Dietitian II practices within their scope of practice at an advanced level. The Clinical Dietitian II may write orders for all aspects of nutrition care except TPN consistent with privileges granted by the hospital medical staff and the hospital board. The Clinical Dietitian II collaborates with physicians and other health care team members ensuring provision of appropriate acute nutrition therapy to patients. These privileges include initiating, changing, and discontinuing enteral nutrition, supplements, diet orders, and education to treat disease states.Responsible for promoting teamwork with all members of the healthcare team. Performs duties in a manner consistent with St. Luke’s mission and values.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or recent compensatory clinical experience of at least 3 years
  • 3-5 years of previous experience
  • Current licensure in the state of Missouri
  • Registration with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics
  • Certified Nutrition Support Clinician required within one year of hire
  • Membership with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics or American Society of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition is required within one year of hire.

Responsibilities
