About The Position

This is a part-time, day shift position in a Lifestyle Medicine office in proximity to O'Bleness Hospital in Athens, OH. Work is 24 hours per week from 8am-5pm (some flexibility). The schedule is Mon-Wed or Tue-Thu. This position is benefits eligible. Must be a registered dietician with a license through the Ohio Medical Board. JOB SUMMARY Utilize evidence-based nutrition care to assess and reassess patient nutrition risk and identify nutrition needs. Develop parental and enteral feeding regimes. Create and implement nutrition protocols. Participate in quality improvement initiatives/committees. Provide nutrition counseling to patients and families as warranted. Participate in multidisciplinary interaction and education.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree (Required)
  • Registered Dietitian with at least two or more years' experience in the acute care setting.
  • Effective time management skills/organization and be a self-starter and team player.
  • Excellent analytic, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Able to communicate effectively in English in-person, in writing, and on the telephone, utilize language services as needed; think critically; work independently; perform basic math and statistical functions; manage multiple assignments; compose written material; work well under pressure; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail.
  • Able to organize technical work; demonstrate excellent planning, problem solving, analysis, documentation, presentation, and organization skills; analyze and interpret data, processes and needs based on limited information; organize work and resources; define problems and solutions, prioritize workload; make recommendations; manage time effectively and plan and implement objectives effectively.
  • Basic computer skills.

Nice To Haves

  • For certain assignments, an advanced degree and/or certification (CNSD, CDE, CNCP), and/or a minimum of two years' experience in acute care setting with a focus on the assigned specialized assignment may be desired.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements programs and/or program recommendations based on the identified individuals needs found through medical records, patient interview/observation, and discussion with medical staff. Remains current on research developments and other methods of practice and incorporates this into current programs and services. Acts as a nutrition resource to programs and services.
  • Facilitates prevention of disease and risk factor modification by providing information, promoting skill development and promoting attitudes to support positive change and maintenance. Provides individual nutrition counseling to individuals about abnormal nutrition.
  • Conducts individual consultation, screening sessions with individuals; assesses and analysis diet and data related to prevention and risk modification; assists the individual in identifying needs and goals; and assists them with developing a plan accordingly. Promotes self-monitoring and evaluates treatment plan and the individuals outcomes.
  • Participates in patient case management when needed as well as interdepartmental meetings. Maintains current knowledge of clinical/community dietetics by reading professional literature, attending educational programs, and maintaining knowledge of Grant/Riverside policies.
