About The Position

HealtheConnections, a leader in health information exchange (HIE) services for NYS-based organizations, is seeking a Clinical Data Quality Analyst. This role is crucial for ensuring the completeness, accuracy, and reliability of data exchanged across thousands of healthcare facilities in New York State. The analyst will be responsible for reviewing and troubleshooting healthcare data, collaborating with customers and healthcare technology vendors, and working with internal teams to enhance data quality and resolve issues. This position is ideal for an individual with clinical data experience who possesses strong problem-solving skills, enjoys collaborative work, and can apply technical knowledge to improve healthcare data.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or higher in HIT, Healthcare, Computer Science, or a related field; equivalent experience and certifications will be considered.
  • Professional experience in healthcare or health information technology required.
  • Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and navigate complex situations.

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years of professional experience working with clinical data.
  • Experience with healthcare interoperability standards such as HL7, FHIR, CCD/CCD-A, and terminology standards.
  • Familiarity with SQL, database concepts, and data analysis tools such as Tableau.
  • Approaching problems with an analytical mindset, close attention to detail, and a desire to find a solution.
  • Being flexible and adaptable to shifting priorities or tasks.
  • Managing your own time.
  • Interacting with partners and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Review healthcare data and investigate HL7/FHIR issues and discrepancies (30% of time).
  • Analyze data for accuracy, completeness, and consistency, identifying opportunities for improvement (20% of time).
  • Identify root causes of data issues and coordinate corrections and improvements (25% of time).
  • Collaborate with customers, EMR/HIT vendors, and internal teams to investigate issues and implement solutions (15% of time).
  • Document findings and processes, and utilize tools such as SQL and Tableau to support analysis (10% of time).
