About The Position

The Clinical Coordinator is responsible for the coordination, orientation, supervision, and evaluation of students and clinical instructors on campus and at clinical sites. This role assists the Director of Nursing (DON) in seeking new clinical agencies/facilities, conducting site visits, supervising and evaluating clinical faculty, and providing evaluation tools for student learning. The Clinical Coordinator also assists with hiring clinical faculty, serves as a liaison between the nursing program and clinical agencies, evaluates student clinical progress, and helps plan advancement ceremonies and new student orientations. Additionally, this role assists with clinical schedules, distributes calendars, schedules and conducts clinical faculty meetings, and orients new faculty to program policies and clinical sites. Maintaining professional qualifications through continuing education is also a key aspect of this position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing required
  • A minimum of two years of clinical nursing experience in a leadership role.
  • Must possess an unrestricted license to practice as a registered professional nurse in North Carolina
  • Ability to create and maintain relationships

  • Ability to organize and prioritize work flow
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently

Nice To Haves

  • Master's in Nursing preferred
  • Prior supervisory experience preferred
  • Prior teaching experience a plus

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate, orient, supervise, and evaluate students and clinical instructors.

  • Function as a liaison between the nursing program and cooperating clinical agencies.
  • Assist the DON with the evaluation of student clinical progress and clinical competency.
  • Assist with planning advancement ceremonies and new student orientation.
  • Assist DON with clinical schedules and distribution of calendars.
  • Schedule and conduct regular clinical faculty meetings.
  • Orient new faculty to policies and procedures of the nursing program and clinical sites.
  • Maintain professional qualifications through continuing education.
