About The Position

Sun Street Centers is seeking a Clinical Coordinator II to support intake, service authorization, treatment coordination, and community engagement for substance use disorder services. This role combines client-facing clinical work with program coordination responsibilities, including counseling, compliance oversight, communication with funding sources, and support for daily treatment operations. The ideal candidate is deeply committed to improving the lives of individuals and families affected by substance use and behavioral health challenges and is passionate about advancing recovery.

Requirements

  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with clients, staff, management, funding sources, and community partners
  • Ability to observe, evaluate, document, and communicate information verbally and in writing
  • Knowledge of substance use disorder treatment, prevention programming, and recovery support services
  • Ability to support quality service delivery through systems, follow-up, and operational checks
  • Working knowledge of management, supervision, planning, fiscal practices, safety, health, and client rights
  • Ability to lead and communicate in a culturally competent and sensitive manner
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and database systems
  • State certification in AOD Counseling required
  • Three years of experience in substance use disorder treatment working with individuals affected by alcohol and/or drug addiction

Responsibilities

  • Provide intake services, complete assessments, and obtain authorization for client services through county, Medi-Cal, or other insurance providers
  • Develop initial recovery plans for detox, residential, intensive outpatient, and outpatient services, including individual, group, and family counseling support
  • Deliver individual and group counseling services as needed
  • Oversee daily treatment operations and services, including case management coordination, communication, advocacy, and timely service delivery
  • Monitor contract fulfillment and follow up with funding sources to support continuity of authorized services
  • Oversee the accuracy and timeliness of billing, utilization reviews, compliance reporting, and documentation related to private insurance and state program requirement
  • Serve as a resource for alcohol and drug addiction treatment, education, prevention, and program development
  • Act as a liaison between program services and the community, including conducting tours, presentations, and outreach activities
  • Support compliance with safety regulations, client confidentiality requirements, and agency policies and procedures
  • Complete special projects and other duties as assigned to support program efficiency
