About The Position

South of Broad Healthcare (SOBH) is expanding access to high-quality, community-based healthcare throughout southern Beaufort County and the surrounding Lowcountry. Grounded by a mission of delivering compassionate, patient-centered care, SOBH supports strategic growth designed to bring essential healthcare services closer to the people and communities we serve. At the center of SOBH is Bluffton Community Hospital, a new 28 bed, full-service hospital. Approximately 90,000 square foot facility will include a 24/7 emergency department, an acute inpatient nursing unit, surgical and endoscopy suites, a cardiac catheterization lab, advanced imaging, laboratory services, and additional outpatient capabilities. The hospital is scheduled for completion in late 2026, with patient care anticipated to being early 2027. Bluffton Community Hospital represents more than the construction of a new facility – it reflects a long-term investment in the health, economic vitality, and future of one of South Carolina’s fasts growing communities. The hospital will create new employment and leadership opportunities, strengthen the recruitment of physicians and clinical professionals, and allow residents south of the Broad River to receive comprehensive care closer to home. Requirements

  • Ability to obtain a South Carolina License.
  • BSN required or candidate must be actively enrolled in a BSN program and must have completed at least 1 course towards their BSN degree. BSN must be completed within 2 years of accepting position.
  • Minimum 2 years as RN.
  • Charge Nurse experience required.
  • Able to work under stressful situations.
  • Possesses excellent oral and written, interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to represent unit well in internal/external relationships.
  • Holds current South Carolina license.
  • BLS Certification required.

Nice To Haves

  • BLS Instructor & ACLS desirable

Responsibilities

  • Directing and coordinating the workflow on the patient care unit for their assigned shift.
  • Providing leadership on days, evenings, nights and weekends.
  • Ensuring the delivery of quality patient care for all patients on the unit through leadership and clinical expertise.
  • Serving as a role model for clinical competence and professional behavior.
  • Assisting the Department Director to ensure the delivery of quality patient care for all patients on the unit through leadership and clinical expertise.
  • Serving as a resource for staff, patients, physicians, and other departments.
  • Ensuring effective communications and cooperation through collaboration with all staff assigned to the nursing unit and ancillary departments.
  • Supporting the quality improvement, patient safety & patient satisfaction process under the leadership of the Department Director.
  • Assisting the Department Director to ensure all processes are executed to comply with regulatory standards.
  • Actively supporting the Core Values, Mission & Vision of BMH.
