This leadership role provides oversight and care coordination for the Colorectal Cancer Program and supports Northside Hospital's compliance with the National Accreditation Program for Rectal Cancer (NAPRC) standards. The role involves serving as the NAPRC Rectal Cancer Program Coordinator, facilitating patients diagnosed with rectal cancer, in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, to access high-quality care throughout the continuum. The coordinator works collaboratively with the Colorectal Cancer Multidisciplinary Team, which includes colorectal surgeons, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, pathologists, radiologists, surgical services leadership, service line coordinators, rectal cancer/GI cancer clinicians, and the MDC Conference team. The position also provides support to the Colorectal Cancer Program physicians, including the NAPRC Program Directors, for data collection, program outcome evaluation, and the development of corrective actions as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing
  • Three years of recent oncology nursing experience
  • Strong administrative management supervisory experience
  • Ability to plan, organize, direct, and control activities of an initiative within or across hospital services
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, management, physicians, and other healthcare providers
  • Successful coordination, team leadership, and service skills
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Good organization, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience analyzing and evaluating the effectiveness of marketing and/or program development initiatives
  • Knowledge and proficiency in the use of computers, including experience with data processing, spreadsheet, and database programs

Nice To Haves

  • Five or more years of oncology nursing experience
  • Master’s Degree in Nursing
  • Certifications in Oncology Nursing
  • Experience as an Oncology Nurse Navigator, Clinical Nurse Specialist, or Nurse Practitioner
  • Experience collaborating with stakeholders to develop collateral on products/services
  • Knowledge of tools to communicate and share information with service line leaders and administration (e.g., data reports, centralized way to view and collect strategic information with internal stakeholders)

Responsibilities
