Under the direction of the Program Supervisor, performs professional duties in the assessment and treatment of youth who are diagnosed with an Intellectual/Developmental Disability and/or Mental Illness; ensures appropriate care coordination and service delivery for assigned caseload; may assist in providing stabilization services after a psychiatric hospitalization, and providing clinical recommendations; communicates and consults with a variety of agencies and programs to ensure coordination of care, conducts biopsychosocial evaluations and intake assessments, coordinates the evaluation, admission, treatment, discharge and after-care plans with appropriate mental health programs and community agencies; performs professional therapeutic crisis intervention, biopsychosocial assessments, disposition services, wraparound services; may assist in placement services for Children’s Services; may provide home-based services; performs related work as required.

Requirements

  • Master’s in Social Work OR Michigan Master’s Level Social Worker (LMSW) credential. Will consider a candidate with a Limited License as a Masters Level Social Worker (LLMSW) credential.
  • Master’s in Counseling OR Michigan Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). Will consider a candidate with a Limited License as a Counselor (LLC) credential.
  • Master’s in Psychology OR Michigan Limited License Psychologist (LLP).
  • One (1) year experience with children who have serious emotional disturbances (SED) or developmental disabilities in a children’s mental health program.
  • Must retain MDHHS qualifications as a Child Mental Health Professional.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, current insurance, and use of a vehicle during working hours.
  • Ability to physically perform the tasks.
  • Employee with a Limited License must take and pass the ASWB Examination within six (6) years in accordance with the State of Michigan requirements to retain employment.
  • Employee with an LLC must take and pass the National Counselor Examination (NCE) within six (6) years of hire to retain employment.
  • Employee with an LLC must also make application for the LPC upon passing the NCE.
  • All licensed clinical staff must maintain licensure as a condition of employment.
  • Employee must maintain valid professional licensure to retain employment.

Responsibilities
