About The Position

As a member of the Ambulatory Transplant team, the responsibilities of the Clinical Coordinator include utilizing and applying current specialized knowledge and expertise on recent advances in nursing practice to facilitate the effective management of clinical activities, the coordination of patient care across the continuum and continuity in patient care management. This role also involves performing patient care responsibilities, teaching/educational responsibilities, participating actively in Quality Improvement initiatives, participating in academic and research activities/projects, performing administrative responsibilities, and performing cross-functional and/or other duties consistent with the job classification, as assigned or requested.

Requirements

  • Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing
  • Certificate of competency (licensure) from the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Completion of Basic Cardiac Life Support (B.C.L.S.) program, Level II Rescuer certification
  • Up to three (3) years of relevant experience including experience working in an advanced practice role
  • Effective organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent decision-making and problem solving skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Excellent teaching skills with the ability to teach one-on-one and/or groups
  • Ability to function collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team and/or independently
  • Ability to work in a self directed manner
  • Demonstrated awareness of and adherence to professional and ethical standards
  • Client service oriented, with the ability to effectively work with diversity and appreciate that people with different opinions, backgrounds and characteristics bring richness to the challenge or situation at hand
  • Computer literacy

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of a recognized masters degree nursing program
  • Experience in Transplant nursing
  • Research experience
