About The Position

The Clinical Concierge guides consumers and their guests through the entire urgent care visit to enhance the consumer experience by maximizing throughput and delivering clinical excellence. This role involves a variety of clinical functions, including assisting the provider with care and treatment, performing laboratory testing, and other duties. The Concierge also handles patient registration, payment collection, rooming, and patient discharge. All Concierges are expected to maintain competency and perform in all assigned positions on a rotating basis. This position is a vital part of the urgent care team, working under the direction of the Site Manager and closely with the provider and other clinical staff. Texas Health Breeze Urgent Care centers are designed to treat most minor illnesses and injuries, offering an easy, convenient, and affordable option for urgent care. Backed by Texas Health, one of the region’s largest health systems, new locations are continually being added across the Dallas Fort Worth area. The centers have achieved and maintain the Commission on Ambulatory and Urgent Care Quality (CAUCQ) Specialty Training Commendation, recognizing focused formalized training in urgent care, both clinically and in patient experience.

Requirements

  • H.S. Diploma or Equivalent Required
  • Successful completion of a Medical Assistant education program Required
  • Certified or Registered Medical Assistant Required
  • OR Successful completion of a Vocational Nurse program Required
  • 6 months of Previous health care facility clinical experience as a LVN, MA, CNA, or other patient care experience OR completion of an internal THR MA externship training program in lieu of experience Required
  • Certified or Registered Medical Assistant in lieu of the completion of a Medical Assistant education program Req
  • LVN - Licensed Vocational Nurse State of Texas, if LVN Upon Hire Required
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support (maintained every 2 years and required prior to providing independent patient care) within 30 days of hire Required
  • THR Urine Drug Collector training (Maintained every 5 years and required prior to providing independent care) within 30 days of hire Required

  • Previous experience with electronic health record preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Guide consumers and their "secondary guests" through the entire urgent care visit to enhance the consumer experience by maximizing throughput and delivering clinical excellence.
  • Assist the provider with care and treatment, laboratory testing, and other duties.
  • Perform patient registration, collection of payments, rooming, and patient discharge.
  • Maintain competency and perform in all assigned positions on a rotating basis.
  • Demonstrate discretion, good judgment, diplomacy, decision-making, and a customer service attitude.
  • Collect identification and payor related documentation, and conduct registration using EPIC workflow.
  • Measure and document vital signs (temperature, pulse, oxygen saturation, respiration, blood pressure, height, weight, and pain level) and communicate the resulting data to the consumer and provider.
  • Document chief complaint, allergies, health history, and current medications accurately in EPIC for review by provider.
  • Perform and document laboratory testing and collections per provider orders and/or standard operating procedures, including venipuncture with prior venipuncture competency check-off.
  • Administer and document oral and intramuscular medication using the appropriate medication verification workflow.
  • Assist provider with procedures, including but not limited to maintaining sterile field, laceration repair, I&D, and application of ortho-goods and assists with ortho-glass application.
  • Behave in a professional and empathetic manner to build trust, comfort, understanding, and relationships with consumers and secondary guest(s) in-line with patient experience standards.
  • Welcome the consumer and secondary guest(s) to the center (including eye contact, smile, greeting, and personal introduction) and inquire about the purpose and nature of the visit.
  • Recognize and notify provider immediately of emergent patients, perform BLS, provide oxygen administration, and assist provider with emergency care.
  • Schedule primary care referrals for consumers.
  • Maintain office supplies, medical supplies, and medications at appropriate par levels as assigned.
  • Perform quality checks throughout the facility per established policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.
