About The Position

The Clinical Concierge role is designed to guide consumers and their accompanying guests through the entire urgent care visit, aiming to enhance the overall experience by maximizing patient throughput and delivering clinical excellence. This role encompasses a variety of clinical functions, including assisting providers with care and treatment, performing laboratory tests, conducting x-ray examinations, and other related duties. Additionally, the Concierge is responsible for patient registration, payment collection, rooming patients, and managing patient discharge. All Concierges are expected to maintain competency and perform in all assigned positions on a rotating basis. This position is a crucial part of the urgent care team, operating under the direction of the Site Manager and collaborating closely with the provider and other clinical staff. The role requires discretion, good judgment, diplomacy, decision-making skills, and a strong customer service attitude.

Requirements

  • H.S. Diploma or Equivalent Required
  • Completion of approved NCT training program Required
  • Successful completion of a Medical Assistant education program Required OR Other Successful completion of a vocational nurse program Required
  • 6 Months Previous health care facility clinical experience as a LVN, MA, CNA, or other patient care Required
  • 6 Months Previous x-ray experience or completion of an internal THR NCT training program in lieu of experience Req
  • NCT (Non-Certified Radiology Technician) Registered by the Texas Medical Board Upon Hire Required
  • LVN - Licensed Vocational Nurse State of Texas, if LVN Upon Hire Req OR Other Certified or Registered Medical Assistant in lieu of the completion of a Medical Assistant education program Required
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support (maintained every 2 years and required prior to providing independent patient care) within 30 days of hire Required
  • THR Urine Drug Collector training (Maintained every 5 years and required prior to providing independent care) within 30 days of hire Required

Nice To Haves

  • 6 Months Previous experience as licensed NCT Preferred
  • Previous experience with electronic health record, straight-arm x-ray and orthopedic experience Preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Guide consumers and their secondary guests through the entire urgent care visit to enhance the consumer experience by maximizing throughput and delivering clinical excellence.
  • Assist the provider with care and treatment, laboratory testing, x-ray examinations, and other duties.
  • Perform patient registration, collection of payments, rooming, and patient discharge.
  • Maintain competency and perform in all assigned positions on a rotating basis.
  • Collect identification and payor related documentation, and conduct registration using EPIC workflow.
  • Measure and document vitals (temperature, pulse, oxygen saturation, respiration, blood pressure, height, weight, and pain level) and communicate the resulting data to the consumer and provider.
  • Document chief complaint, allergies, health history, and current medications accurately in EPIC for provider review.
  • Perform and document laboratory testing and collections per provider orders and/or standard operating procedures, including venipuncture with prior competency check-off.
  • Administer and document oral and intramuscular medication using the appropriate medication verification workflow.
  • If a medical assistant, perform injections with the appropriate competency checkoff.
  • Assist provider with procedures, including but not limited to maintaining sterile field, laceration repair, I&D, and application of ortho-goods and assists with ortho-glass application.
  • Perform diagnostic x-rays and document completion of radiology examinations within the licensed scope of practice as ordered and verified by the provider.
  • Perform x-rays following established protocols and utilize appropriate exposure factors for care and safety.
  • Ensure images and applicable communication are transferred to the radiology group for overread and assure all images have a report on file in the medical record.
  • Behave in a professional and empathetic manner to build trust, comfort, understanding, and relationships with consumers and secondary guest(s) in-line with patient experience standards.
  • Welcome the consumer and secondary guest(s) to the center (including eye contact, smile, greeting, and personal introduction) and inquire about the purpose and nature of the visit.
  • Recognize and notify provider immediately of emergent patients, perform BLS, provide oxygen administration, and assist provider with emergency care.
  • Schedule primary care referrals for consumers.
  • Maintain office supplies, medical supplies, and medications at appropriate par levels as assigned.
  • Perform quality checks throughout the facility per established policies and procedure.
