About The Position

Click Here for a Virtual Hospital Tour Position Summary The Chart Deficiency Analyst is responsible for analyzing inpatient/outpatient patient records in Cerner PowerChart for completeness and accuracy, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and standards.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
  • Thorough understanding of medical terminology
  • Effective communication skills
  • Attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Abililty to prioritize and manage workload to meet deadlines and productivity requirements

Nice To Haves

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (Associate's or BSN) preferred.
  • Liccensed Practical/Vocational Nurse (LPN/LVN) or Registered Nurse (RN) License to practice in the State of Florida preferred.
  • Two (2) year's medical records experience working in a Behavioral Health setting preferred.
  • Cerner experience highly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Performs weekly audits of 100% of all open charts concurrently to ensure that the medical records documentation meet regulatory requirements.
  • Reports regularly to the COO and Health Information Management Director regarding the results of the audits, and prepare to disseminate this information to the appropriate Department Heads.
  • Prepares in-services and educational programs on the timeliness and accuracy of documentation to ensure that Providers and Nurses are aware of regulatory requirements and expectations.
  • Monitors reports in Cerner to identify delinquent charts
  • Communicate with physicians by all available means to facilitate completion of chart prior to delinquency date
  • Distributes notices of delinquencies to physicians for completion
