About The Position
St. Elizabeth Healthcare is hiring a Clinical Care Technician for our Emergency Department located within the Edgewood Hospital. The Clinical Care Technician provides direct and indirect patient care to support a unit or facility as directed by a Registered Nurse (RN).
Requirements
- Highschool Diploma / GED
- BLS Certification
- Ability to perform such tasks as vital signs
- Demonstrates knowledge of body mechanics
- Hospital Orientation
Responsibilities
- Collection of basic laboratory specimens and two hour troponins
- Collects legal alcohol specimens
- Performs EKG’s and 2 hour EKG’s with troponins
- Assists with lifting and transporting
- Performs vital signs
- Clean and bandage wounds
- Splinting to fractures
- Other duties as delegated by the nursing staff within scope of training
- Transport patients to testing
- Perform CPR on full arrests as members of the code team
- Follows all policies and procedures in the collection of laboratory samples and in the performance of EKG’s, in an accurate and timely fashion
- Assists nursing staff in addressing patient care needs, rounding frequently and ensuring that environment is conducive to care
