About The Position

Sanford Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join their Children's Primary Care Clinic as a Clinical Care Leader (CCL). This leadership role involves schedule creation, staff rounding, monthly staff meetings, assisting staff and patients with questions, and collaborating with other Pediatrics leaders. The position combines administrative duties with patient care responsibilities. The CCL will support a multidisciplinary team, potentially assisting with new staff training, orientation, and peer reviews. The role requires strong clinical reasoning, critical thinking, and effective communication skills to manage changing situations and collaborate with peers, colleagues, patients, and families. The CCL will also serve as a mentor to staff and may participate in leadership roles on department/organizational task forces and committees.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program, including, but not limited to, those accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), or National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA).
  • Currently holds an unencunbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where the practice of nursing is occurring and/or possess multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state.
  • Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications.
  • Functions within the legal scope of practice.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing strongly preferred in Fargo, Fargo Network, Bemidji, Sioux Falls Network and Rapid City. Required in Bismarck and Sioux Falls (Sanford USD Medical Center and Clinics)
  • Minimum of two years’ clinical experience preferred.
  • Proven ability to lead and inspire teams.
  • Excellent communication, critical‑thinking skills, and adapt to a dynamic clinic setting.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing daily operations of the clinic to ensure smooth workflow
  • Supporting the team through mentoring, coaching, and education
  • Ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and organizational standards
  • Collaborating with leadership to improve efficiency and patient outcomes
  • Facilitating health care services for patients in cooperation with the health care team
  • Participating and may serve in leadership roles on department/organizational tasks forces and committees
