Sanford Health, the largest rural health system in the United States, is dedicated to transforming the health care experience and providing access to world-class health care in America’s heartland. This role is a 12-hour night shift position with scheduled weekly hours of 36. The compensation is a salary range of $38.00 - $55.00. This is a union position. The department features a team nursing model with a fun atmosphere, allowing for close patient relationships due to their length of stay. It's a great unit for patient and family education and coaching. The role involves working with an interdisciplinary team of therapists to help patients regain independence. Main patient diagnoses include strokes, spinal cord injuries, and brain injuries. There is a closed campus between orthopedics and rehab, so no cross-campus floating is required. The facility is a CARF accredited rehab facility, offering nurses the opportunity to become Rehab Certified. The unit has a 15-year CAUTI-free record and a 13-year CLABSI-free record. It is a 27-bed acute care unit with a collaborative practice environment in a CARF accredited program for both general rehab and acquired brain-injured patients. Patients on this unit have an acute medical management need and a condition or diagnosis resulting in a loss of or impairment in functional skills such as mobility, cognition, activities of daily living, and communication, requiring an intensive therapy program to improve their level of function. Patients participate in a minimum of three hours of therapy per day. Examples of diagnoses managed may include stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury, neurological disorders, multiple fractures, bi-lateral total joint replacement, amputation, multiple trauma, and de-conditioning from various medical and surgical events. The Registered Nurse in the Clinical Care Leader (CCL) role facilitates health care services for patients in cooperation with the health care team. They facilitate communication and provision of information and messages in a way that produces clarity and impact. The CCL understands the importance of inter-team collaboration in breaking down silos and achieving business results, and the ability to lead employees from various functions to communicate, coordinate work across divisions, and collaborate in solving problems as one team. They apply the concept of collaboration to build relationships and coordinate with other teams, and provide feedback to members of the health care team.
