About The Position
The Clinical Care Assistant performs a full range of medical support services in the Surgical Specialties department at Reliant Medical Group, part of the Optum family of businesses. The role focuses on providing high-quality patient care and satisfaction in a community-based, multi-specialty, physician-led organization. The position is based at 123 Summer St, Worcester, MA 01606. It is full time at 38.75 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with hours between 8:30 AM and 5:00 PM. A $1,000 sign-on bonus is offered to external candidates. Candidates must pass a drug test before beginning employment.
Requirements
- Medical Assistant diploma, technical certification, or at least one year of experience performing critical medical assistant skills after on-the-job training, or current enrollment in an accredited Medical Assistant program, or EMT certification.
Nice To Haves
- Active medical assistant certification (CMA, CCMA, NCMA, RMA, or CMAC), or ability to obtain certification within 180 days.
- CPR certification.
- Experience with electronic medical record software, specifically EPIC.
- Experience performing medical back-office tasks, including obtaining vital signs, injections and immunizations, phlebotomy, urinalysis, and administering medications.
Responsibilities
- Prepare examination rooms and sterilize medical equipment and instruments.
- Room patients, obtain health histories, and check vital signs.
- Document patient care using electronic medical record software.
- Perform phlebotomy and urinalysis, and handle patient specimen samples.
- Administer medications and perform injections and immunizations.
- Assist providers with minor in-office procedures and perform point-of-care testing.
