Requirements

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Athletic Training.
  • Certification by the Board of Certification for Athletic Trainers (BOC)
  • Current CPR/AED certification.
  • Strong knowledge of injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical athletic training services within Architech Sports & Physical therapy clinic in Pineville, NC - primarily during the offseason (summers/winter)
  • Provide athletic training services to Charlotte Soccer Academy's ECNL programs, including support during practice and games
  • Perform clinical injury evaluations, assessments of function, and follow standardized clinical practices in diagnostic reasoning and medical decision-making.
  • Provide rehabilitation and reconditioning strategies, taping/wrapping, and bracing for preventative and protective treatment.
  • Determine return-to-play standards for athletes and the active population.
  • Maintain daily records of treatment logs, injury reports, and medical inventory management.
  • Assist with planning, organizing, and compliance of departmental policies, including setting up necessary medical supplies and equipment for practices and games.
  • Works within the Sports Medicine Team concept and accepts assignments based on department need and organizational needs, providing medical coverage as needed.
  • Promote an open atmosphere of communication and engage with staff/visitors from a variety of developmental and sociocultural backgrounds.
  • Engage with the community by attending and providing care at soccer events, fostering relationships with athletes, coaches, and families.
  • Ensure the implementation of Emergency Action Plans for each venue and provide emergency care when necessary.
  • Maintain current training on concussion education, management, and care, including acute management of the cervical spine.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in athletic training practices through continuing education opportunities.
