Clinic hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00a - 5:00p, with no weekends, holidays, or on-call duties. The Clinical Athletic Trainer is responsible for evaluating and monitoring clinic patients within an orthopedic patient focus. The role involves participating in patient care implementation under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician. Responsibilities include evaluating injuries, physical conditions, and needs, recommending scientific care plans with schedules, treatment programs, and education based on patient capabilities and limitations. The position ensures patient health, comfort, and safety, documents and interprets information from various sources, and utilizes appropriate testing techniques to assess injuries. The trainer contributes to patient assessment, administers treatments such as casting, splinting, and bracing, and educates patients on proper use. They observe patients, document changes in condition, and report adverse reactions, taking necessary action. Additionally, the role involves counseling patients and families on prevention and treatment plans, explaining safety rules for training and activities, and implementing/monitoring patient treatment regimens for rehabilitation and reconditioning.
