About The Position

This position supports clinicians in room preparation, patient preparation for appointments, and patient care activities within the scope of practice. The role involves maintaining equipment, managing inventory, and restocking supplies. Responsibilities also include performing procedures, collecting and analyzing data to inform clinical decisions, and ensuring work areas are organized and safe. The position may also handle referrals and inquiries from patient families, manage data and records, generate reports, and assist in process improvement. Administrative support includes performing departmental operations, following documentation procedures, ordering supplies, sorting mail, scheduling meetings, maintaining file systems, and assisting with recruitment activities. The role requires maintaining an understanding of regulatory requirements and accreditation standards, supporting compliance efforts, and adhering to safety policies and procedures. It also involves ensuring timely fulfillment of certifications and safety college requirements, sharing best practices, and communicating safety and compliance concerns. The position requires integrating age-specific and culturally inclusive concepts into patient care and providing assistance with patient-related activities within a clinical discipline.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • No directly related experience
  • Audiology Aide License by the State of Ohio, where applicable

Responsibilities

  • Support clinician in room preparation, patient preparation for appointments, and patient care activities within scope of practice.
  • Clean and maintain equipment, order inventory, and restock supplies.
  • Perform procedures, collect data, analyze data, and inform clinical decisions regarding patient care, including initial screening, assessment, diagnosis, prognosis, care and reassessment.
  • Ensure work areas are organized and safe.
  • Respond and follow up with referrals and inquiries from patient families, efficiently and effectively resolving issues.
  • Maintain, monitor, organize, input, and/or ensure integrity of data and/or records.
  • Audit data as necessary to ensure accuracy.
  • Generate reports as needed and disseminate to appropriate individuals.
  • Improve/maintain processes, operations, and/or performance using available data or assist in this process.
  • Provide data collection, input, mining, and/or analysis.
  • Respond to, process, and/or track all related requests.
  • Assist in automating existing processes or recommend changes to management.
  • Perform various administrative functions of departmental operations while providing daily support on operational issues.
  • Follow divisional documentation procedures.
  • Request and orders office supplies or other miscellaneous items.
  • Sort and distribute mail.
  • Schedule meetings for appropriate staff and prepares/documents/scans, labels, photocopies, etc.
  • Organize and maintain file/record system.
  • Enter and/or analyze data.
  • Ensure department staff has necessary documents for maintaining calendars, meetings, travel, etc.
  • Make travel arrangements if necessary.
  • Provide assistance for recruitment activities when needed.
  • Complete special projects as requested.
  • Perform cross-functional duties with related positions when needed.
  • Function as department resource.
  • Sustain a working understanding of regulatory requirements and accreditation standards.
  • Support leadership in compliance efforts to meet and sustain the regulatory compliance efforts of the department and hospital.
  • Be mindful and judicious in monitoring safety and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Ensure all individual certifications and Safety College requirements are fulfilled in a timely basis.
  • Work with department managers, nurse council and magnet representatives to identify and share safety best practices.
  • Be mindful of CCHMC's processes and compliance with CMS standards and freely communicate safety and compliance concerns to team members.
  • Consistently support the integration of age specific and culturally inclusive concepts into patient care, taking into consideration both the patient's chronological age and developmental functioning.
  • Provide assistance with patient related activities within a clinical discipline.
