The Clinical Associate performs clinical and clerical support. provides basic technical clinical services and clerical support in the delivery of quality patient care as directed by licensed staff, physician or mid-level practitioner. performs basic clinical services relating to the care, cleanliness, safety, and comfort of patients. The Clinical Associate may be approved with phlebotomy tasks with the proper certfication, department need and leadership consent. The pre-anesthesia preparation unit is a fast-paced department aimed at focusing on quality presurgical care that fosters patient safety and successful surgical outcomes. We are a 25-bed unit located on 4 South and 4 East serving the main OR, endoscopy, and other procedural areas. The preoperative phase of care includes a patient assessment, a physical preparation of the patient through performing labs, diagnostic studies, and other care items such as IV insertion and medication administration, a psychological preparation of the patient to reduce anxiety associated with having surgery, and patient teaching. Communication and interdisciplinary teamwork serve as a essential link to ensuring safe and quality patient care. This position is full time, working the day shift with every other weekend and rotating holidays
